Dr. Jane
Blumenthal
Dr.
Jane Blumenthal received her A.B. from
Princeton University, and her M.A. from
The University of Chicago. She attended
medical school at the University of Michigan.
She completed her residency at Michael
Reese Hospital and the University of Illinois
Medical Center in 1992.
Dr. Blumenthal worked at Women’s
Health Resources with Illinois Masonic
Hospital until she joined Obstetrics and
Gynecologic Specialists at its inception
in 1994. She is a member of The American
Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists
and a Fellow of The American College of
Obstetrician Gynecologists. She is also
a clinical instructor at Northwestern University’s
Medical School. The Feinberg School of
Medicine. Dr. Blumenthal has lived in Europe
and is fluent in French and Spanish.
Dr. Blumenthal is certified to perform
robotic surgeries, including hysterectomies
and myomectomies utilizing the Davinci
robot, enabling many surgeries that used
to require a large incision to be performed
using tiny incisions and enabling a much
faster recovery.
Dr. Blumenthal’s special interests
include menopause, endoscopy, laparoscopic
hysterectomy, evaluation and treatment
of abnormal bleeding, uterine fibroids
and newer techniques to manage them. In
addition to standard surgical procedures
and minimally invasive procedures, Dr.
Blumenthal offers endometrial ablation
and other alternatives to a hysterectomy.
