Billing

Billing and repayments have become increasingly complex due to the proliferation of managed care companies. If we have signed a participating agreement with your insurer, we will bill them. You are responsible for your co-pay payable at the time of service.

If we do not participate in your insurance plan payment is expected at the time of your visit. (If you are an established self-pay patient and need to make individual payment arrangements, please contact our Billing Department prior to your appointment.)

While we are here to help, it is ultimately your responsibility to understand your insurance benefits with your insurance carrier. Some policies have very intricate rules about what is and is not covered. OBGYN information is always subject to the final determination of coverage by your insurance plan.

If you have traditional major medical coverage, reimbursement is frequently based on the company’s own schedule of reasonable and customary fees for each procedure or exam. Unfortunately, your companies “reasonable and customary” fees frequently do not reflect the fees that are typical of OBGYN’s in the area.

Note for patients with Lab One and other restricted laboratory benefit plans:
We use Quest Diagnostics Laboratory for all lab work done in our office. If your insurance offers benefits at a different laboratory (such as Lab One) we will draw your lab work, however you will be responsible for any laboratory charges not covered by your insurance. You may choose not to have your lab work done in our office, please inform the office staff and we will give you a prescription for lab work to be performed at the laboratory of your choice.
